This course is designed to give students information they need for growth and development physically, emotionally, and socially. It covers preventive health topics such as hygiene, nutrition, exercise, and rest. The course discusses safety issues for exercise and recreation, violence prevention, and online safety. Drug use and misuse is covered, and refusal skills are discussed and practiced. Other topics include relationships and communication as well as protecting and promoting health throughout the lifetime.
